The Road to Kathmandu (1975)

Re-live the joys of the Hippy Trail with this bunch of British kids on their adventure of a lifetime

Filmed in colour as a promotional film for tour-bus operator, Exodus, in the mid-70’s, this film is narrated by the driver who explains the overland phenomenon of the time, and introduces us to the wide-eyed travellers who have signed up for the trip from the UK to Nepal. This film is a nostalgia-fest, recalling a more innocent time when the streets of Kabul were filled not with troops and rubble, but with loon-panted youngsters with centre partings. Oh happy days…
