Auction for Firies

Australia is on fire!
No, that’s not a metaphor – it is literally on fire and our communities are suffering.

We are thrilled to launch our Firie Fundraiser and are so grateful to all the travel writers, film-makers and adventure community for donating their books, DVDs and other merchandise.

THANK YOU for your wonderful generosity.

We are holding a SILENT AUCTION on all the goods seen below.

This means that you bid the highest amount you are willing to donate to the fire-fighting fund – you won’t see the other bids or the running tally. The highest bid will win the item.

You can bid via email until 13 February or by ticket at the festival on 14 or 15 February 2020. We will tally the results and announce the winners on Sunday morning 16th Feb.

Please make sure you read the T&Cs below – especially if you are bidding from overseas.

Any questions – email bid@gettwisted.com.au

BIDDING IS NOW OPEN

Make sure your bid is VALID – read the T&Cs!!

Please share this auction with your friends so that we can raise the maximum amount of money for the Firies. It’s not too late to donate a book, film or merch…

Title: The Last Great Australian Adventurer

Author: Gordon Bass

Signed by the Author

Description: In 1948, Ben Carlin set out from New York City with an audacious, lunatic plan to circumnavigate the world in an army surplus amphibious jeep called Half-Safe.
Fuelled by cigarettes and adrenaline, the Australian army major pushed his fragile, claustrophobic vehicle through fierce Atlantic hurricanes, across uncharted North African desert, into dense South-East Asian jungle and over the icy dark swells of the North Pacific. It was a 50,000-mile roll of the dice that by all rights should have killed him.
