Yes folks, we listened to your feedback and made the leap out of the Big Smoke and into an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty no less!
Our new venue is Hatherop Castle, GL7 3NB, nestled in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. When googling, note that Hatherop Castle is a Victorian stately home that is now being used as a school called, Hatherop Castle School! What’s a little confusing is that the delightful sandstone structure is a classic grade II listed building but doesn’t look like a castle in the ‘traditional’ sense.
This move means… no ULEZ (wahoo!), no congestion charge (wahoo!) and we hope it is a more accessible location for many more of you. All traffic needs to fit through a gothic arch that is 3.1m high and 2.3m wide. If your van is too big then fear not, we have a place set aside especially, you can still attend!
More info below…
The nearest railway station is Kemble, on the Swindon to Gloucester line, which is 14 miles from the venue. Fairford railway station is only 3 miles from the venue but sadly, was closed in 1962 (and therefore NOT down to Beeching!). We heartily support rail travel so if planning to arrive on Friday at Kemble, let us know and we will try and connect you with some other like-minded festivaleers and maybe a shared cab perhaps (C-19 allowing).
If you’re driving, try to arrive via the village of Bibury – Cotswold perfection and a vindication of this area for the event.
Please do not arrive before 2pm on the Friday and we must be clear of the site by 5pm on the Sunday.
