Frances Castle is a London based illustrator who runs the independent record label ‘Clay Pipe Music’. She has recently self-published the first part of her graphic novel series ‘Stagdale’.
The book is set in the summer of 1975, and tells the story of twelve-year-old Londoner Kathy who moves to the remote, unwelcoming village of Stagdale following her parents’ painful separation. The cottage she now calls home holds a secret left by a boy a generation before, that entwines both children in a dark mystery involving a lost Saxon jewel.
Frances will discuss how she created ‘Stagdale’; from coming up with the initial idea and artwork process, to getting it printed and promoted.
Frances will be speaking at the Cotswolds Adventure Travel Film festival from 13 – 15 August 2021.
