Part of the “Three Under 30” screening.

FIVE MINUTES WITH NABIL QERJIJ

ATFF:

Hello, not long now till this summer’s Adventure Travel Film Festival. We are so excited to be sharing so many fantastic films this year. Lets start with a quick summary of yours, what’s it about?

Nabil:

From Morocco with love is a movie about one of my adventure journey in this wonderful world where i’m traveling by hitchhiking around the Land of Ice and Fire (Iceland). This journey about me falling in love with the beauty of the nature and the kindness of people.

ATFF:

How did the film come about? Was it something that you’ve always been interested in?

Nabil:

I made this movie to show and share my way of traveling with all the world and especially with the moroccan people because a big part of the moroccan people think that traveling is about staying in fancy hotels and spending a lot of money.

ATFF:

This years films have spanned oceans mountains, glaciers… a huge range of environments. What challenges did you face in making yours?

Nabil:

I went to Iceland with the idea of just travelling around i wasn’t their to make a movie. Like always a have a camera in my bag so i started to capture random moments and when i went back to morocco i watched all the stuff that i had capture and i start thinking about making a movie. So the big challenge was to create a movie and tell a story from some few clips that was captured on the go !

ATFF:

Is there anything that you would like audiences to take away from your film?

Nabil:

I went on this trip with a very limited budget and no preparation, I didn’t have the 4 saison tent or the -25 degree sleeping bag. I got very basic stuff and it didn’t stop to live the best adventure of my life. The key don’t wait for the best equipements and the money for the 5 starts hotel…. Just go for it !

ATFF:

We have lots of people come to the festival who aspire to future film makers. Do you have any advice?

Nabil:

Movies is about telling stories. It’s not difficult, you just need to find something cool and tell a story about it, what made you make that, why, how and when !

ATFF:

Are you coming to this years festival? How can audiences find out more and connect with you?
