In 2015 Jonathan Rider and Edmund Le Brun were the first people to raft the length of the Oxus River in Afghanistan, from its source high in the Pamir Mountains to the border with Tajikistan. As China seeks to build a road through this remote part of the country, Jonathan and Edmund’s journey may be the last chance to see this spectacular part of the world. The expedition sheds light on a side of Afghanistan few people get to see. Having never rafted before it is a journey into the complete unknown…
