Junco Shakers
After taking Mill Hill’s top terrace by a storm at the ATFF in 2017, the Junco Shakers return! With Mitch Ratcliffe on double bass, Ben Gunn beating the washboard & driving blues harmonica, Sam La’penn and Gaz playing acoustic guitars, and topped off with gospel vocal harmonies, the Junco Shakers create their own style of authentic music dubbed “Skifflebilly Swing”.
They’re all about throwing music back to its roots whilst crafting contemporary songs, taking influences from 40’s rock n roll, skiffle, reggae, blues and jazz artists such as big Joe Turner, Leadbelly, Lonnie Donegan, Muddy Waters and Louis Prima.
