Australia-based Danish adventurer Thor F. Jensen heads to the Pacific with the aim of circumnavigating the island of New Guinea in a traditional sailing canoe – a Sailau. Never before attempted, he sets out on the mission with the help of three master sailors from Papua New Guinea. It’s a gritty, salt-stained odyssey – 13 months, 6,300 kilometres, countless close calls – following the rugged coastline through thunderstorms, bewitched reefs and internal conflicts.
